Diplomate, American Board of Optometry

Dr. Insinga graduated Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He completed his Doctorate in Optometry at the State University of New York, State College of Optometry. While at SUNY Optometry he was inducted into the prestigious Golden Key Optometric Honor Society and Sigma Beta Honor Society ultimately graduating in the top of his class. Dr. Insinga’s clinical training included internships at the Castle Point Veterans Administration Hospital and Omni Eye Specialists of Baltimore. Dr. Insinga continued after graduation completing a residency specializing in ocular disease management.

Dr. Insinga was named Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has been Board Certified through the American Board of Optometry. He has held memberships in the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Insinga has served as Secretary, Vice President and President of the Tri-County Society of Optometric Physicians and has participated as a Board of Directors member for the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. In 2010, Dr. Insinga was named “Young Optometrist of the Year” by the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians for his service to the profession. Dr. Insinga’s previous academic appointments included adjunct clinical professor for institutions such as the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, State University of New York; State College of Optometry, Ohio State College of Optometry, and University of Missouri, St. Louis College of Optometry.

Dr. Insinga has lectured to optometrists throughout New Jersey and has published a feature article in the June 2001 issue of Review of Optometry discussing the diagnosis and management of post-cataract surgery complications. Dr. Insinga’s expert commentary was included in the July 2007 issue of Review of Optometry discussing the postoperative management of the trabeculectomy as well as the glaucoma drainage implant patient.

Prior to joining Bedminster Eye and Laser, Dr. Insinga practiced for seventeen years caring for a diverse population of medical and surgical patients while serving as Center Director for an ophthalmic medical and surgical referral center. He spent the past ten years of his career providing medical and family eyecare for a private optometric practice.

Dr. Insinga is married to his wife Melissa and they have two children. His interests include saltwater fly-fishing, spending time at the beach, and taking Sunday drives.
